Glastonbury Pilgrimage - 7th September
The Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Glastonbury is just over two weeks away! We are appealing for your support and assistance with essential tasks, which would be greatly appreciated. Sign-up lists detailing the areas where we need help are posted in the Church porch, and there is also a sign-up form here.
On Friday, 5th September, and Saturday evening, 6th September, we will be setting up chairs, tables, gazebos, etc. On Sunday, we will need a few volunteers to cover the entrance gate and assist with admissions sales. Additionally, we require car park stewards at Herbie’s Field. During the pilgrimage, we need volunteers to manage the repository, merchandise, and cake stalls, as well as volunteers to carry the statue during the procession. We will also need many volunteers to take the offertory collection during Mass and help with the clean-up on Sunday evening after the event concludes.
Please check the sign-up lists in the porch and on the website for these crucial jobs where your assistance is most needed. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Parish Office.
We are indeed blessed to be parishioners at such an important Shrine. While we might take it for granted, it is essential that we ask for volunteers to help us warmly welcome visitors from across the Diocese and beyond who wish to make this annual pilgrimage to Glastonbury. Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
Additionally, while the Abbey will no longer allow us to have a tea tent, we will have a cake stall and would greatly appreciate donations of cakes. These can be brought to the Church or the hall kitchen on Saturday evening, 6th September, or on Pilgrimage Sunday morning directly to the cake stall in the Abbey grounds after 10.00am. All proceeds from the repository, merchandise, and cake stalls will support the Shrine. Most importantly, come and enjoy this major Diocesan event that we host. Thank you!
